Former MORTIFICATION Members Join Forces In MARTYRS SHRINE

October 22, 2007

MARTYRS SHRINE is an extreme metal band from Melbourne, Australia formed by Mike Forsberg (vocals/drums) and Michael "Mick" Carlisle (guitar/bass) in 2005. Both members have recorded albums and toured extensively with some of Australia's most successful bands — MORTIFICATION, RAGEWAR, CYBERGRIND and EXCARNATED. Mick, an original member of MORTIFICATION, is featured on albums "Mortification" (1991),"Scrolls Of The Megilloth" (1992),"Post Momentary Affliction" (1993) and "Bloodworld" (1994). Mike is featured on CYBERGRIND's debut "Transcend" and MORTIFICATION's twelfth studio album, "Braincleaner" (2004).

MARTYRS SHRINE's self-titled debut album is available now from the band's MySpace page. Featuring a unique blend of death/thrash metal, it is a culmination of years of songwriting plus Mick and Mike's love for extreme metal in its truest form. A special guest appearance by Baz Bardoe of SUNSARIA adds to the awesome sound of this promising debut.

MARTYRS SHRINE is looking for label support/licensing and distribution.
